This week has been filled mostly with research. I have read over a concept artist’s blog entry detailing the art in life is strange quite a few times. I love how she describes the environment artist’s job as creating “3D concept” art.

I have also researched a bit into how lighting creates the mood of an area. The most interesting bit I found here.

It is directed towards film rather than games, but it gives information that can be used in game engine as well. It also helps me get a better idea of how theater lights work which I can apply to the stage portion of my scene.
I have also been playing “Your Lie in April” in the background while doing homework for my classes. The reason being is that this anime includes many of the themes and emotions I have felt during my experience with music. (I guess I’m like Nagi, I love it but didn’t want it to be my life) It is also the anime that reminded me about that aspect of my life. I had been removed from it to the point of forgetting anything besides the people I had met during that time, but it brought back those emotions due to it’s extreme.
Last, I would like to mention my excitement over a class assignment. For the scripting class I am taking I was tasked with creating a simple script in MEL. The script I created deletes history, moves to the origin, and freezes transforms on all objects I have selected. It is very simple, but I am proud to have thought of it (I know many before me likely have as well) because I can use it while working on my thesis. I feel it would save me some time.
