Week 5

I have continued with the production of the practice room. I should remember to set the Maya settings back to centimeter (I use foot for sizing) before exporting. If I do not the model imports much smaller than it was in the Maya scene, despite changing Maya settings only and not the model size. The relationship between Maya and unreal is weird in that regard. I have continued with the production of the practice room.

I have gone back to my models and made sure each of the lower polly objects are UV unwrapped. I have also started to add higher poly meshes to use for the creation of normal maps. I will still be adding to the low polys as needed.

I have taken the wall, floor, ceiling, and light to test the textures on. I will add more detail to the textures as time goes on. There also is a lining up issue that needs to be fixed with the wall trim. I may fix this by adding a “texturing only” model that adds an edge loop where I want the trim to line up at for visual purposes.

I have also located some screenshots I had taken of some areas in Junkertown (Overwatch) that I can use as texture reference. I will try to do the same with areas in Life is Strange, however I don’t have a current save file of the game so it would take more time to get to a place with indoor environment textures to reference.
