Week 11

This week has been a bit harder for me to find time to work. That isn’t to say I haven’t been working, as I have, just not as much as I would like to. Something about a holiday and all. Actually, it has been nice to see family. I have gotten some textures done and modified the size of the theater lights as they were too large in proportion to other objects. I have also raised the handles on the double doors to feel more accurate in engine.

It has been brought to my attention that the term “sound thingies” that I was using for the acoustic panels used during band productions is rather confusing. The list was intended for my own use and at the time my brain simply was not working. It has now been renamed “portable acoustic panels” as that is essentially what they are. They redirect the sound for the audience to receive a more pleasing experience.

I feel like I should talk some about the reference I have been using as well. Most of it has been real life in combination of the texture reference I have gathered from Overwatch and Life is Strange. For example, I have a clarinet, so I used that to know where each key goes and the shape of the mouth piece and barrel (the part directly under the mouth piece). For stuff like ceilings, walls, outlets etc. I look around the school and my room. For the stuff I don’t have I gather picture reference. In example for the acoustic panels I know the type often used in high schools have wheels attached, but the pictures I have of them that help determine their size does not show the wheels, so I used pictures of cart wheels to supplement.
