Lately I have been having some technical issues. Specifically the fan in my laptop has loose bearings which causes it to make an awful grinding noise. I have been doing my best to use my back up laptop (which isn’t nearly as efficient), or the lab computers when they are available, but this has cut into my time some. It is frustrating because otherwise the laptop is working fine, and isn’t overheating because I have been using a cooling pad on it when I do use it, but the noise itself cuts my ability to focus. I have a replacement fan for the laptop, and will have it repaired during winter break.
On another note I have taken suggestions for stuff to add into the scene before the December presentation (which is only a few days away now). My mentor suggested crumpled papers and a wet floor sign where the drip is. Classmates have suggested stuff like fire safety signs and a white board. All things I plan to have ready by Wednesday. I have the wet floor sign and pens for the white board created. I have also spread out some pencils, pens, and reeds across the floor of the scene to help it feel used.
For the crumpled paper I followed a tutorial on Youtube (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9ex08xddNAo) with a couple different results. I’m not sure if I will use these exact results for May, but for the December presentation I feel they will work to get the idea across. I can come back later to improve upon them when there is time.
